Laser resection of a basal cell adenoma of the left main bronchus.
A 39-year-old male patient. Chest CT and bronchoscopy revealed a space-occupying lesion in the left main bronchus causing luminal obstruction. Histological examination of the biopsy specimen demonstrated a basal cell adenoma.
Due to the localization of the lesion, thoracic surgeons refrained from surgical intervention. The patient’s condition deteriorated; therefore, on vital indications, laser resection was performed using a VELAS™ 30W diode surgical laser.
